Paper, size and fold
How and where to print a wedding newspaper.
Your download includes four PDFs: a reading edition, a fold-at-home edition, and separate Tabloid files for Newspaper Club and PRINTNEWSPAPER. Choose the file for your printing route.
Four files, different purposes
For real newsprint: use the ready-made Tabloid file
At Newspaper Club, choose Tabloid, then Digital print, and upload Newspaper-Club-Tabloid.pdf. It contains four single pages in reading order at exactly 289 × 380 mm, with 15 mm safe margins and CMYK artwork. Do not choose Midi: that is a 225 × 320 mm product with a 16-page minimum.
At PRINTNEWSPAPER, upload PrintNewspaper-Tabloid.pdf. It is a different physical size: 260 × 370 mm, CMYK, with 10 mm clear margins on every edge. Do not upload the Newspaper Club file there — their preflight will reject the page size.
Newspaper Club recommends PDF/X-1a:2001 where possible, but its published requirements do not restrict uploads to Canva or InDesign. Its checker evaluates page size, page count, colour, image resolution, fonts and transparency. Always review its upload report and order one proof before the full run.
For home or a local print shop
Use Print-Edition.pdf at home or at a print shop. Its two landscape PDF pages are already arranged: outside 4 | 1, inside 2 | 3. They go on opposite sides of one sheet. Do not select Booklet or multiple pages per sheet.
Pick the sheet in your printer, not another file
For a pocket edition, use A4 paper, landscape and Fit to printable area; it folds to approximately A5 (148 × 210 mm). For the larger newspaper, use A3 paper, landscape and Actual size (or Fit if an edge is clipped); it folds to A4 (210 × 297 mm). The PDF is A3 landscape. An A3 printer or print shop is needed for the larger sheet.
Have Letter or Tabloid paper instead? Use landscape and Fit to printable area. The finished size and margins will differ slightly. Always check one folded copy, especially the smaller text, before the full run.

From your printer to their hands.
The pages are already arranged. Follow these four steps for manual double-sided printing.

Print the outside
Open Print-Edition.pdf. Print PDF page 1 only: it already contains newspaper pages 4 | 1. Use landscape, one PDF page per sheet and single-sided printing. Turn Booklet and multiple-pages-per-sheet modes off.
First copy? Check which way your printer feeds the paper.
On a spare sheet, make a small pencil mark on the upward-facing side and an arrow pointing into the tray. Print the outside and note which face received ink and where the top of the newspaper landed. Reload for the blank face, using your printer’s manual-duplex diagram to align the tops. Print the inside and check that pages 2 and 3 are upright before making the full set. The printer shown above is schematic; tray direction is not universal.
Printer supports automatic two-sided printing? Print both PDF pages together, landscape, with short-edge binding. Keep Booklet mode off and check one folded copy first.
At a print shop
Send Print-Edition.pdf and ask for one sheet, printed on both sides, outside 4 | 1 and inside 2 | 3, folded once with page 1 as the cover. Specify A4 paper for the pocket edition or A3 for the larger newspaper. The provider-specific Tabloid PDF is separate because professional newspaper dimensions cannot be created by simply scaling an A4 file.

Choose paper that still feels like a newspaper
Uncoated or lightly textured stock gives a softer, editorial result. Very bright coated paper can make the piece feel like a brochure. For folded programmes, choose a weight that holds colour but still folds cleanly. Ask the printer for available uncoated samples rather than selecting by weight alone.
White file, warm paper—or a printed tint?
Every style includes Clean white and Warm paper. Clean white puts no coloured ink behind your content: it is the right choice for ordinary white paper, cream stock or real newsprint, whose colour comes from the paper itself. Warm paper prints a pale tint on white stock. It uses more ink; the screen and home-print editions retain a white border, so borderless printing is not required. A yellow background cannot reproduce the thin, soft feel of real newsprint.
Check colour and photographs
Keep photographs in colour or choose black-and-white photographs independently of your template. Screen brightness makes images appear lighter and more saturated than print. Avoid very dark photographs, confirm skin tones on a physical proof and expect uncoated paper to soften contrast. Image warnings use the photograph’s size on the largest supplied page, not just its original pixel count.
